Ryan Nelson
I first picked up my father's guitar over ten years ago and have been fascinated by music creation and recording ever since. I started with a 4-track cassette machine, like many young engineers, and soon found that the thrill of capturing a great musical performance on tape was indescribably satisfying. I felt like I was an archivist, and it was my duty to preserve the musical moments in time that described the human condition. The mode of recording has since progressed and I am now preserving these moments in a computer-based Pro Tools environment, but the feeling is still the same. Many bands and many years later I still feel the same sense of duty to record artist's work as accurately as I'm able. I am a Berklee College of Music certified Pro Tools Specialist and I want to make your music sound it's best. At this point I'm most interested in working with solo artist and duos but all projects are considered. The following are the services I can offer:
-demo and EP recordings for solo artist and duo projects
-small group or solo artist live sound re-enforcement (1000 watt Yamaha PA system with microphones, stands, cables, and live mixing know-how)
-audio mixing/mastering
-"on location" live recording for demo purposes
I am a musician myself and understand that the artist's vision comes first. This means that if ever a project is posed to me that I feel is out of my scope of abilities, I will be the first to recommend that the client pursue another avenue for production. I will never charge a client for a product that I am not completely confident about. I have a small, home-based recording setup and understand its limitations, but I feel that it's important for local artists to have an inexpensive, trustworthy, and understanding partner in conveying their work. If you feel that I can help you in your musical pursuits please feel free to visit the Contact page and let me know what you have in mind.
